'Junior isn't the problem, he just listens to Daddy.'

The much talked about rebirth of ITV Boxing hits the airways tonight as Chris Eubank Jr takes on Australia's IBO Super Middleweight champion Renald Quinlan. Whilst the fight has gained much attention, very little has focused on the fight itself. Fans, promoters and journalists alike have preferred to talk about whether or not the fight is worthy of a pay-per-view billing as well as the legitimacy of the IBO belt as a genuine world title. Although the title isn't recognised by the major governing bodies one person who feels that the IBO title is deserving of a bit more credit is Eubank Junior's former foe Spike O'Sullivan. Eubank and O'Sullivan shared a ring on the under card of Skysports Box Office's Joshua V Whyte show. 'As they have pointed out it is a title that a lot of top fighters have held and currently GGG (Gennady Golovkin) is the IBO middlewight Champ, so when Eubank wins the title I think it will help boost the profile of the title as well.' Although his view on the IBO belt differs from many, O'Sullivan's use of the word 'when' when discussing the result of the fight suggests that his train of thought is along the same lines as the majority both in terms of quality of opponent and the fact that ITV have used this fight to launch their PPV mode. So much so that O'Sullivan has said that if Quinlan wins tonight he will run the London Marathon in a mankini on a non marathon day. 'I don't think his opponent on this occasion warrants pay-per-view no. I'd not heard of him (Quinlan) until now to be honest' And whilst both Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn have publicly slammed the Eubanks, in particularly Chris Snr (or English as he prefers to be known) what has O'Sullivan seen of their supposed difficult nature? 'Well I think Senior is very hard to negotiate with and wants a lot of the pie which I personally admire a bit as in most cases its the promoters etc. making the money and not the fighters but I think he does have some silly demands and is eccentric. I don't think Junior causes much of the problem, he just listens to Daddy' Whilst many will be keeping an eye on whether ITV's new project is a success or not, O'Sullivan will be training hard for his next fight on March 18th with his sights on big things this year. 'I have the opponent, I'm waiting on my promoter to announce it that should be coming real soon. (The plan is) to train harder than ever and get this fight out of the way on March 18th and land a few big fights this year.'
